fussilli fiesta

hello guys! time for another pasta dish i just cooked few minutes ago, for an express lunch.

it was 10 minutes to 12 noon and no one is moving, everyone of us in the house is minding our own businesses but my tummy is screaming for food.

and here's what i came up with. just a simple common fussilli pasta dish, simple and easy to prepare. just prepare the spices for the sauce while boiling water and cooking the noodles. for this express meal, i chose, as usual, what's inside the fridge- tomatoes, beans, broccoli and some sardines and tuna sauteed in olive oil with onions and garlic. and then for a spike, i added some fresh purple and sweet basil leaves from our garden.

voila! my very own fussilli fiesta!

doesn't that look lovely? it also tastes super happy!
plus, you don't need to worry cause it's not pricey at all and so easy to cook! c'mon guys, try it at home!

ham and spanish sardines spaghetti

okay, so this one may not be anything mad or original. still, as usual, simple dishes always turn out to be perfectly wonderful on the palate.

how i did this? again, really simple.

however, the noodles' always an issue in every pasta dish. one has to make sure it's cooked perfectly - regardless of the brand. people tell me a lot of times that the more expensive noodles are better and turn out almost always  perfect- i beg to disagree, of course. we all know that's not true.

let's go to the sauce.

each time i cook a pasta dish, i always make sure of the herbs and spices and for this one-- ripe tomatoes, white onions, garlic, oregano, basil and mint. and then the meat of the sauce- your regular sliced ham (usually pre-cooked) and spanish sardines.

after i sauteed the garlic, onion and tomatoes, the ham follows and then spaghetti and tomato sauce, and then tomato paste. salt and pepper to taste and few spoonfull of honey. and then the spanish sardines (oil removed). when everything's cooked and smells heavenly, sprinkle the basil leaves (dried or chopped fresh) and oregano. and then mint. and voila! serve hot!

pollo pomo d'oro

Hello everyone! Thank you for dropping by and welcoming my first post, in this foodie wannabe blog. The truth is, i've been wanting to start a food blog for so long a time now, not for anything else but just share some of the things i do in the kitchen. What finally made me do this? Sadly, it is because i found out i can't get into my blog anymore, i lost and can't remember my password. So here i am with my all new food blog! Yohoo, i hope you enjoy it too!

As an opener, may i present a very own experiment of mine i call Pollo pomo d'oro -a simple and saucy chicken dish.yummy indeed.

Pollo Pomo d'oro is chicken thighs marinated for five hours in a pot, with huge, saucy, peeled tomatoes with a mix of heavenly herbs- depending on what's in your cupboards (in my case, basil and dried oregano), three tablespoon of unfiltered honey, fish sauce (according to taste) and white pepper.

How to cook? Very, very, very simple. Just put the pot with the chicken on the stove and let boil. Add red onions. Taste sauce for saltiness. If it's a bot bland, add some more fish sauce, or a dash of iodized salt. When it starts boiling, check to see if the chicken thighs are tender then simmer.

Serve hot and saucy. Best with a slice of french baguette. There you go. Simple and guaranteed heavenly delicious! There will be madness on the dining table i promise!
